What is your super power?
Day One | Crafting Experiences Studio
Objective: Create an artifact that represents who you are and what your superpowers are.
The cliche that you can talk about yourself better than you can talk about anyone else does not always seem to be true in my case. Remember those assignments that you would get on creating a self portrait of yourself whether it be written, visual or be any medium in that matter; well I always thought those are the hardest assignments that I would have to complete. I have never been too fond of observing myself because of my hypercriticism towards my actions so I have turned observation focus on to other people. Not in a hypercritical way, more in a “I want to figure you out" way. I have always loved being able to help people in some sense but being able to help better their lives through design is a place that I am happy I have fallen into.
I have always played a game with myself to figure out people’s life story because they were able to tell me or in many cases never tell me. It was my way of creating reason for the interactions going on around me. So I decided to create a headband that represents my knack for wanting to know more about where people come from, how they think, how they do and other psychographics that make them who they are. My artifact is like my third eye, or in this case a telepathic headband that helps me read peoples minds.
I hope to get an alternate view on what we think about experience design that goes away from the traditional digital solutions out of this class. There are so many opportunities to affect peoples emotions by tugging at their other senses that our mobiles devices cannot do. We can really start to grasp specific triggers through the senses and be able to provide solutions that are out of the box. I am really excited to start this journey through Crafting Experiences.
